HOME OFFICE

WORKING FROM HOME

So many BCBAs work from the comfort of their own homes, at least for part of the day.  Without an office, things can get a little complicated!  This page is dedicated to easing the stress that can come along with working from home.

ORGANIZATION

THESE ARE A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE ... PLANNERS

New Year - New Planner!!  Maybe you've graduated to calendars and planner tools on your phone, but here at Coffee + Cooper, we prefer the pen + paper method.  Finding the perfect planner can be a headache (and don't even talk to me about how it feels when they discontinue your favorite one!).  Below are the Top 3 planners for Behavior Analysts.

SELF MANAGEMENT PLANNER

Made by BCBAs, for BCBAs!  This planner includes monthly and daily calendars, blocked in 15 minute units, of course.  It also includes a notes page and a place to set long-term goals!

AT-A-GLANCE

The OG of planners, At-A-Glance planners come in so many different styles, it's easy to find one that suits your needs.  We prefer this Daily-Monthly hardcover one!

THE HAPPY PLANNER

The Happy Planner is great for BCBAs that want a little inspiration with their planning!  With colorful pages, and lots of customizable features - The Happy Planner is at the top of our list!

TAKE TIME TO DECORATE!

SOME OF OUR FAVORITE HOME OFFICE DECOR FINDS

When it comes to decorating a home office, our favorite place to start is Etsy. You can find wonderfully unique decor that can be customized to your office. Below are some things that we're loving right now!

WORKING FROM HOME CAN BE BOTH WONDERFUL AND IMPOSSIBLE. WHILE IT'S NICE TO RELAX AND COMPLETE A TREATMENT PLAN FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR COUCH, THERE ARE SO MANY DISTRACTIONS (THE FRIDGE) AND OPPORTUNITIES TO PROCRASTINATE WHEN YOU'RE WORKING FROM HOME. IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE THESE DISTRACTIONS, COFFEE + COOPER HAS SOME RECOMMENDATIONS ON CREATING A PRODUCTIVE SPACE IN YOUR HOME.

Setting up a Home Offce

STEP ONE

DESIGNATE A WORK SPACE

Working from your dining room table isn't going to cut it. You need a place where you can leave your data sheets, display your calendar, and focus on behavior analysis. This shouldn't be your bed, your couch, or your kitchen counter. Think in terms of stimulus discrimination! You want a place that will signal "time to work".

STEP TWO

DECLUTTER AND ORGANIZE

Your work space should inspire you to work, not inspire you to walk away because it's disorganized and cluttered. Create a filing system to ensure your space stays organized and clean your space at least twice per week.

STEP THREE

DECORATE

Decorating your home office will encourage you to keep it clean and organized. There are so many great finds on Etsy to help you make your home office unique!
